The New Hampshire Fisher Cats dropped a 2-1 decision to the Akron RubberDucks on Wednesday night in a game that was shortened to six innings because of rain that began falling in the seventh.

Kevin Smith was at the plate leading off the bottom of the seventh when the rain started. The teams complete their three-game series Thursday at 12:05 p.m.

Akron scored the go-ahead run on Oscar Gonzalez' RBI single, scoring Connor Marabell, in the sixth. The RubberDucks took a 1-0 lead in the second on Alexis Pantoja's run-scoring single. New Hampshire got even in the fourth on a Josh Palacios RBI single, scoring Nash Knight. 

Joey Murray (0-3) took the loss, allowing two runs on five hits in six innings. He fanned three and walked four. Sam Hentges (3-10) got the win. He allowed four hits and one run in six innings, walking two and striking out seven.
