Four Fisher Cats pitchers allowed just four hits in a 1-0 win over the Binghamton Rumble Ponies in the second of a three-game series Wednesday night in Binghamton, N.Y.
Starter Yennsy Diaz (9-8) got the win with five innings of three-hit ball. He walked two and struck out four. William Ouellette went two hitless innings, fanning three. Corey Copping pitched a hitless inning, walking one and striking out one, and Dany Jimenez got his third save, allowing a hit and a walk in the ninth.
New Hampshire scored its run in the fourth. Chad Spanberger walked with one out, a single by Chris Smith advanced him to second, and a Christian Williams single scored Spanberger. The Fisher Cats amassed only six hits off three Binghamton pitchers. Williams and Cullen Large each had two of those.
David Peterson (3-5) took the loss for Binghamton. He went 5 2/3 innings, allowing five hits and one. He fanned three and walked three.
The series ends Thursday with a 6:35 p.m. start.
