MANCHESTER — Joe Deleault of Goffstown and his family have been coming to New Hampshire Fisher Cats game since the team’s inaugural season. So it was fitting that Deleault, along with his wife, Tracy, son, Lincoln, and daughter, Willa, received some special attention before Wednesday night’s game against the Portland Sea Dogs at Northeast Delta Dental Stadium.
The Deleaults were honored as the five millionth fan(s) in franchise history at Wednesday night’s game at Northeast Delta Dental Stadium and will receive, among a slew of prizes, four half-season tickets to the 2019 Fisher Cats season as well as two VIP suite tickets for a year to every SNHU Arena event.
“We couldn’t believe it! We came up and, boom, there it was,” Deleault said. “With all the fanfare, we were totally surprised and happy to find out we were the five millionth fans. To think about (the Fisher Cats welcoming) five million fans, that’s just incredible. What a night.”
The Fisher Cats, began playing in New Hampshire in 2004, beat Portland 4-2 in the first game of their doubleheader Wednesday.
The first-place Fisher Cats (70-55) could clinch a playoff berth as soon as tonight. They entered the second game of the doubleheader with a three-game lead over second-place Trenton in the Eastern League’s Eastern Division.
