It was a night for forget for New Hampshire Fisher Cats, who were routed 14-5 by the Richmond Flying Squirrels on Friday night in an Eastern League game at Northeast Delta Dental Stadium in Manchester.

The Squirrels put up a three-run inning, a four-run inning and a five-run inning, finishing with 12 hits. Two of them were homers, off the bats of Jacob Heyward and Zach Houchins.

Starter Patrick Murphy (4-6) took the loss, surrendering five runs (three earned) in 2 1/3 innings.

Josh Palacios had a homer and single for New Hampshire, and Vinny Capra added a double and single.

The teams play again tonight at 6:35.
