Chad Spanberger hit a two-run homer as the New Hampshire Fisher Cats scored twice in each of the first three innings en route to a 7-2 win over the Trenton Thunder in Eastern League play Wednesday night at Northeast Delta Dental Stadium.

Zach Logue (2-0) went six innings, allowing two runs on six hits for the win. Santiago Espinal went 3-for-4 and drove in two for New Hampshire. Spanberger, Vinny Capra and Brock Lundquist each notched two hits.

Espinal doubled home Forrest Wall and Capra singled home Espinal as New Hampshire took a 2-0 lead in the first. Trenton tied it up in the second on a Brandon Wagner RBI groundout and Jhalan Jackson’s solo homer.

The Fisher Cats took the lead for good with two in the bottom of the second. Lundquist doubled home Spanberger and Espinal’s fielder’s choice scored Lundquist.

Spanberger’s two-run homer in the third made it 6-2. Brandon Grudzielanek had an RBI fielder’s choice in the fifth.

Albert Abreu (0-2) took the loss for Trenton, allowing six earned runs in four innings. He allowed eight hits and struck out five.

The Fisher Cats hit the road for seven games, starting tonight in Reading with the first of a four-game series against the Fightin Phils. New Hampshire returns home next Thursday for a four-game series against Hartford.
