The Reading Phillies had the last laugh, scoring three runs in the ninth inning to beat the New Hampshire Fisher Cats 9-8 in an Eastern League game on Sunday at Northeast Delta Dental Stadium in Manchester.

The biggest hit of the ninth was Darick Hall’s solo homer that tied the game 8-8. Josh Stephens followed with a triple and trotted home with the winning run on Austin Bossart’s single.

New Hampshire, which scored two runs in the seventh and three in the eighth to take the lead, was led by Santiago Espinal’s two doubles and three runs batted in. Forrest Wall and Kevin Smith had two singles each.

The Fisher Cats have Monday off before starting a road trip.
