Alberto Mineo had a pair of run-scoring hits, including a go-ahead two-run single in the seventh inning, helping the New Hampshire Fisher Cats to a 5-3 victory over the Hartford Yard Goats in an Eastern League contest Thursday night at Northeast Delta Dental Stadium in Manchester.
In a opener of a homestand, the Fisher Cats fell behind 3-1 in the top of the seventh, then answered with three in the bottom of the inning. Kacy Clemens and Brandon Grudzielanek started the inning with singles, and one out later, Vinny Capra doubled down the left field line to score Clemens.
Mineo, who had an RBI double in the first inning, then followed with a single that chased home Grudzielanek and Capra to put New Hampshire ahead 4-3. The hosts added an insurance tally in the eighth on Capra's RBI single.
Reliever Tayler Saucedo (1-0) picked up the win. Kirby Snead notched his fourth save of the young season, fanning two of the three batters he faced in the ninth inning.
The teams are scheduled to play again tonight at 6:35 p.m.
