Chris Gittens slugged two home runs for the Trenton Thunder (15-7) in their 3-1 win over the New Hampshire Fisher Cats (11-13) on Tuesday, getting things started with a two-run blast in the bottom of the first inning before sending another over the fence in the sixth.

The homers were Gittens' fifth and sixth of the season with both coming at the expense of Fishers starter Zach Logue, who was otherwise solid through six, recording six strikeouts without a walk and surrendering six hits.

Santiago Espinal briefly brought the Fishers within a run in the top of the fifth inning with a line drive RBI single to center field that plated Kacy Clemens.

New Hampshire threatened to tie the game in the top of the ninth, getting runners on first and second with one out but was unable to drive them in.
