Justin Dillon, Vinny Nittoli and Dany Jimenez combined on a three-hitter to lead the New Hampshire Fisher Cats to a 7-0 victory over the Akron RubberDucks in an Eastern League game on Tuesday night at Northeast Delta Dental Stadium in Manchester.

Kevin Smith's 17th homer of the year, a three-run shot to center field in the fifth, provided New Hampshire all the offense it needed. Smith added an RBI double and a single to lead the Fisher Cats' offense. Josh Palacios added three singles, knocking in a run and scoring one.

Dillon (4-2) worked six innings, allowing two hits. He walked one and fanned two. Nittoli followed with two perfect innings, and Jimenez fanned the final two batters he faced in the ninth to strand two baserunners and complete the shutout.

The shutout was New Hampshire's seventh of the year, all combined.

The teams are scheduled to continue their series on Wednesday at 7:05 p.m. at Northeast Delta Dental Stadium. Joey Murray (0-1) is New Hampshire's probable starter. The series concludes with a noon contest on Thursday before Erie comes to town for the weekend.
