Dana Harrity shot a 1-under-par 71 at Abenaqui Country Club on Monday to earn the top seed in the Championship Flight for the inaugural NHGA Women's Match Play Championship.

Harrity, who was playing on her home course, carded three bogeys and six pars to make the turn at 3 over par. She made four birdies to shoot 4 under on the back nine. Her 71 was six strokes better than the next competitor in the field, Nashua Country's Club's Margaret Brenner, who finished with a 77. Harrity moves on to face Suzanne Flynn (Pease GC) in the first round of matches in the three-day tournament.

The remainder of the field is broken into two flights, the First Flight with eight golfers and the Second Flight with nine golfers.  Rowena Wilks (Country Club of New Hampshire) snagged the top honor in the First Flight of competitors after firing a 93 in the qualifying round.  In the Second Flight, Stacey Counts (Loudon CC) captured the No. 1 seed after an opening-round 108.
