With home course advantage on her side, Dana Harrity of Abenaqui Country Club captured the first-ever NHGA Women’s Match Play Championship title by defeating Betsy Knights (Hanover CC) 4 & 3 in the final match Wednesday in Rye.

The Championship Flight final match began with Harrity winning the second and third holes, but Knights got one back before it got away from her. Harrity struck again taking the fifth hole getting her back to 2up in the match. Knights then battled the rest of the way on the front nine to get the match back to how it started, All Square. Moving to the 10th hole, both players made six to halve the hole, but 11 is where is all started to go Harrity’s way when Knights put her tee shot in the water. Harrity’s momentum carried her the remainder of the match as she won 13, 14 and 15 to take the victory, 4 & 3.

Harrity is the state's most decorated female golfer. She has now won 16 NHWGA championships and was inducted as a part of the inaugural class into the New Hampshire Golf Hall of Fame in 2018.

In the First Flight, Rowena Wilks (CC of New Hampshire) edged Sharon LaVigne (Baker Hill GC), 1up.

For the Second Flight, Stacey Counts (Loudon CC) topped Ann Justin (Sagamore-Hampton GC) 1up.
