Matt Burroughs captures Manchester City Championship

Derryfield Country Club’s Matt Burroughs fired a two-round total of 135 and emerged as champion of the Manchester City Golf tournament when Monday’s scheduled final round was canceled by rain.

Burroughs carded a 66 at his home course on Saturday and a 69 on Sunday at Intervale CC. He was six shots better than Austin Fox and Jake Nutter, both of Derryfield, who finished with 141s. Dan Arvanitis of Derryfield and Kevin Webster of Intervale finished at 144, with Scott Underhill of Canterbury Woods at 145.
