Hooksett’s Rich Berberian Jr. on Tuesday shot a par-72 and sits tied for fifth place entering Wednesday’s final round at the PGA Professional Championship in Bluffton, S.C.
Berberian, a former assistant at Windham Country Club, is at 214 for the first three rounds, six strokes off the pace of co-leaders Danny Balin and Alex Beach.
Berberian needs to finish in the top 20 to advance to the PGA Championship starting Thursday, May 16, at Bethpage Black in Farmingdale, N.Y. He last qualified for the PGA in 2017 at Quail Hollow in Charlotte, N.C.
On Thursday, Berberian was the picture of consistency, carding 14 pars, two birdies and two bogeys on the Belfair West Course.
