Craig Steckowych captured his second New Hampshire Golf Association title within a week when he and his fellow Portsmouth Country Club members won the fourth annual Club Team Championship recently at Hanover Country Club.

Steckowych, who won the Senior Match Play Championship at Windham CC, Peter Keilty, Eric Evans and Chris Pollet posted a two-best ball score of 3-under 137. Nashua CC team of Eric McCoy, Craig Moran, Jaron Slattery and DJ Petropulos and the Derryfield CC team of Dan Arvanitis, Jim Conley, Patrick Mahan and Thomas Mareno tied for second place with even-par scores of 140.

Portsmouth CC parred the front nine before posting birdies on hole Nos. 12, 17 and 18.

The Derryfield CC team of Lance Pelley, Sean Lacey, Brendan O’Sullivan and Ryan Sylvester won the net title with a net score of 10-under par.

Konkowski low pro

Keene CC assistant pro C.J. Konkowski was the low professional and, along with amateur teammates Ryan Fuller, Sam Fuller and Bob Fuller, posted the best team score at the NHC Pro Am at Manchester CC on April 29.

Konkowski shot a 2-under par 69 to finish as the low professional, finishing ahead of Rochester CC assistant pro Brett Smestad (72). Manchester CC professional Brian Moskevich and Hoodkroft CC assistant pro Eric Soderman tied for third with 2-over scores of 73.

Keene CC finished with a 14-under par in the one-best ball and one-best ball gross format.

Marett notches ace

Londonderry’s Mike Marett scored his first ever hole-in-one on April 28 at Londonderry CC, which was witnessed by his wife, Cynthia.

Using his seven iron, Marett aced the 120-yard par-3 fifth hole. Marett’s hole-in-one was the first of the season at the country club.
