Top-seeded John Stark/Hopkinton scored the first three goals and went on to a 4-2 win over No. 4 Berlin in the Division III boys’ hockey semifinals Wednesday night at Plymouth State University.

John Stark/Hopkinton will face Monadnock/Fall Mountain in Saturday’s 12:15 p.m. final at SNHU Arena in Manchester.

Tyler Scordo stopped 22 shots in net for John Stark/Hopkinton. Benny Madden opened the scoring at 1:17, assisted by Carter Pike, and Paul Molnar scored an unassisted goal at 7:52 of the first period up to stake Stark/Hopkinton to a 2-0 lead.

Nolan Sauer scored at 51 seconds of the second period assisted by Brett Patnode to make it 3-0. Berlin got on the board at 12:34 of the second on Tyler Rousseau’s goal, assisted by Brayden Riendeau and Ben Estrella. Patnode restored Stark/Hopkinton’s three-goal advantae with a strike from Sauer at 14:44 of the second.

Rousseau scored his second, while the Mountaineers were shorthanded, at 4:19 of the third period to close out the scoring. Estrella assisted. Trent Labrecque made 17 saves for Berlin.

Monadnock/Fall Mountain 3, Belmont/Gilford 2: Justin Joslyn scored twice to help Monadnock/Fall Mountain book a spot in the Division III boys’ hockey final with Wednesday night’s win at Plymouth State University.

Belmont/Gilford scored first on Cam Jarvi’s unassisted power play goal at 9:09 of the first period. Joslyn scored at 12:30 of the first period with an assist by Lincoln Blodgett to tie the game at 1-1.

Blodgett scored 35 seconds into the second period, and Joslyn scored his second at 12:05 of the middle frame, assisted by Blodgett, to put Monadnock/Fall Mountain ahead 3-1 after two.

Jarvi’s second goal of the game, assisted by Griffin Tondreau, at 7:32 of the final period got Belmont/Gilford to within one.

Colton McGreevy made 25 stops for Belmont/Gilford. Isaac Jasinski had 11 saves for Monadnock/Fall Mountain.
