05/08/2019 Thomas Roy/Union Leader Memorial-West’s Kenny McIntyre battles Central’s Keaton Witaschek at West High School in Manchester on Wednesday.

The Exeter High School baseball team plated five runs on seven hits and eight walks to earn a 5-2 home victory over Windham in Division I action on Wednesday.

The Blue Hawks (9-3) scored a run each in both the third and fifth innings before bringing home three in the sixth.

The Jaguars (6-5) scored both their runs in the seventh inning.

Rob Wirtanen led Exeter offensively, going 3-for-4 with two RBIs. Wirtanen, Ethan Imbimbo and Harrison Lendrum all registered RBI hits in the sixth frame.

Exeter starter Dan Sarmiento went five innings to earn the win, allowing two earned runs on three hits and six walks alongside two strikeouts.

Will McKee went 3-for-4 for Windham. Jaguars starter Westin Lippold allowed two runs on four hits and struck out two over five innings.

Dover 13, Trinity 0 (5 inn.): In Dover, Chris Johnson earned the win, allowing five hits and one walk alongside four strikeouts. Axel Post hit a double and a grand slam for the Green Wave (6-6). Cam Tomko logged two hits for Trinity of Manchester (1-12).

Goffstown 10, Salem 9: In Goffstown, Connor Hujsak hit the game-winning single in the sixth inning. He finished with three hits, including a solo home run, for the Grizzlies (4-6). Teammates Liam Kilbreth and Will Soucy also had multi-hit games. Salem is 0-9.

Bedford 5, Timberlane 4: In Bedford, Michael Pratte scored the winning run in the seventh inning on a passed ball. Jared Neikam recorded three hits, including two doubles, and two RBIs and Blake Murray pitched 2 ⅓ innings or relief to earn the win for the Bulldogs (5-4). Cam Sweet hit a two-RBI single in the fifth inning to give Timberlane of Plaistow (4-8) a 4-3 lead.

Keene 5, Spaulding 2: In Keene, Peter Haas pitched the Blackbirds (8-5) to victory, allowing five hits and two walks while striking out nine. Spaulding of Rochester is 5-6.

John Stark 10, Sanborn 1: In Kingston, John Stark of Weare (9-0) plated eight runs in the sixth inning. Brett Patnode and Aaron Robertson both went 2-for-4 with a triple for the Generals. Patnode also recorded two RBIs and two runs and pitched six innings, allowing one run and striking out 10. Sanborn is 2-6.

Hanover 17, Pembroke 5: In Hanover, the Marauders (2-4) scored 12 runs in the second inning. Cam Nixon went 3-for-3 while Jaxen Dupuis and Cove Boucher both recorded two hits for Pembroke (5-4).

Pelham 8, Manchester West 0: In Pelham, JJ Jepson earned the win, striking out five and limiting West (1-8) to three hits over six innings. He also went 2-for-3 with two runs scored and two RBIs at the plate. Reagan Brunelle went 2-for-3 with a run scored and an RBI for the Pythons (3-5).Gilford 12, Mascoma 1: In Gilford, TJ Carmilia and Isaac Wallace both went 2-for-3 with a double for the Golden Eagles. Connor Sullivan struck out seven en route to the win. Mascoma Valley of Canaan is 2-7.

Pinkerton 7, Concord 2: In Concord on Tuesday, the Astros scored six runs in the final two innings to break a 1-1 tie. Brady Day had a triple and single for the winners (7-3) while Jagger Bell and Jacob McGill added two singles each. McGill had two runs batted in. Derek Hiscox went five innings for the win, allowing one run on five hits. Matt Albetski pitched the sixth and seventh innings, allowing one run, to earn the save. Adrian Kennedy cracked a homer, double and single for the Crimson Tide (10-2).


Pinkerton 7, Bishop Guertin 6: In Nashua, Danielle St. Peter drove in the game-winning run in the seventh. Ellie Cashman and Mattie Sullivan both logged two hits for Pinkerton Academy of Derry (5-4). Taylor Cushion went 2-for-4 with two runs scored for Bishop Guertin (0-10).

Bedford 12, Timberlane 5: In Plaistow, Caroline O’Donnell won her first game of the season and received run support from freshman Caity Lemay, who had a solo home run and a two-run double. Elise Buchanan hit a two-run home run and Morgan Fraitzl went 3-for-4 with two RBIs for Bedford (5-4). Timberlane is 2-11.Spaulding 6, Keene 0: In Rochester, Brittany Foucher went 4-for-4 with three steals and three runs scored and Hailey Nesbitt logged two hits for Spaulding (9-4). Izzi Eames struck out six and allowed three hits en route to the win. Keene is 4-8.

Bishop Brady 12, Winnisquam 0 (5 inn.): In Concord, Halle Laramie shined in the circle and at the plate for Bishop Brady (8-2). Laramie allowed five hits and one walk and struck out two and, at the plate, hit an inside-the-park home run and a double. Isabela Rivera went 3-for-3 with two runs and two RBIs and Ashley Brust logged two hits and two runs for the Green Giants. Winnisquam of Tilton is 6-2.

White Mountains 14, Newfound 0 (5 inn.): In Bristol, Haile Hicks pitched a perfect game, striking out 13 Newfound batters, to lead White Mountains of Whitefield (8-0) to the win. Newfound is 1-10.

Portsmouth 8, Exeter 6: In Portsmouth, Maddy Roelofs had a hat trick for the Division II Clippers (9-1). Division I Exeter (8-4) received a hat-trick performance from Carly Pierce.

Winncannet 10, Windham 2: In Windham, Madi Connelly scored twice and Alex Perkins made 10 saves for the Jaguars (4-4). Winnacunnet of Hampton is 5-5.

Spaulding 10, Alvirne 8: In Hudson, Morgan White logged six goals, Emery Newton scored twice and Brielle Garcia and Bella Olsen both tallied a goal for Spaulding of Rochester. Zoey Cormican made 14 saves for the Red Raiders (3-5). Alvirne is 1-9.

Pelham 14, Trinity 5: In Pelham, senior Jill Schwab scored her 200th career goal for the Pythons (7-1) when she netted her seventh of the game in the first half. Courtney Ingham had a hat trick and recorded five draw controls for Trinity of Manchester (1-7). The Pioneers also got a goal each from Sarah Gagne and Mary Mulcahy and 10 saves from Kevynn Knoettner.Laconia 17, Gilford 10: In Gilford, junior Shelby Cole recorded six goals, including the 200th of her career, and two assists for the Golden Eagles (4-5). Laconia improved to 7-2.

Derryfield 11, Campbell 5: In Litchfield, Lucy Licata scored five goals to reach 100 for her high school career. She added two assists for 6-1 Derryfield. Olivia Strong scored three and assisted three. Shawna Lesmerises made nine saves. Campbell is 3-3.

Boys’ lacrosse

Nashua South 15, Salem 1: In Nashua, Joe Bodi tallied three goals and three assists and Drew Fleury, Griffin Johnson, Nate Campbell and Brad Deitrich each scored twice for the Panthers (7-4). Campbell and Johnson also logged two assists. Jaiden Dupont went 13-for-16 at the faceoff X for South. Salem is 0-9.

Exeter 15, Concord 6: In Concord, Spencer Clark recorded a game-high four goals alongside two assists while Wyatt Carr added three goals and three assists for Exeter (9-3). The Blue Hawks also received two goals and an assist from Connor Holly and two tallies from Dayton Christenson. Sam Nichols scored twice for Concord (5-4).

Derryfield 13, Merrimack 1: In Merrimack, Derryfield School of Manchester improved their winning streak to 64-0 behind five goals and an assist from Matt Weimer. Max Horton and Jonny MacLean both scored twice while Chas Dean logged a goal and two assists for the Cougars, who improved to 11-0. TJ Fasano scored the lone goal for Merrimack (6-3).

John Stark 15, Spaulding 4: In Rochester, Cam Fortin recorded five goals and an assist, Kayden Easter had a hat trick and Aiden Moser logged two goals and two helpers for John Stark of Weare (4-4). The Generals also received a goal and eight assists from Peyton Marden. Spaulding is 0-7.

Campbell 15, Milford 2: In Milford, Riley O’Shaughnessy and Ryan Cavanaugh both scored and Kyle Forsley made 13 saves for the Spartans (2-6). Campbell of Litchfield improved to 6-2.

Pelham 18, Trinity 1: In Manchester, Declan Clougherty scored the lone goal for Trinity on an assist from Will Brown. Pelham is 7-0.

Coe-Brown 3, Pembroke 2: In Northwood, Jack Cinquegrano had two goals and two assists for the Bears, who got 16 saves from Zach Sheehan.

Pinkerton 19, Souhegan 7: In Amherst on Tuesday, Ryan Auger recorded five goals and five assists and Owen McCormack also scored five goals for Pinkerton Academy of Derry (7-3). Connor McCormack tallied three goals and a helper for the Astros, who received a combined 11 saves from goalies Jack Sweeney and Andrew Hassler. Souhegan is 4-5.

Boys’ volleyball

Goffstown 3, Timberlane 0: In Goffstown, Ryan Peace registered 11 blocks, Kyle Pinard had three aces, six kills and eight blocks and David Trnka tallied three kills and five blocks for the Grizzlies (7-3). Timberlane of Plaistow is 7-2.

Hollis/Brookline 3, Winnacunnet 2: In Hollis, the Cavaliers won, 25-21, 25-22, 15-25, 21-25, 15-10. Matt Wojick recorded 18 kills and four aces while Connor Russell added 14 kills and six aces for Hollis/Brookline (6-3). Josh Ide logged 41 assists and five aces for the Cavaliers. Winnacunnet of Hampton is 4-6.
