Harrison Lendrum tossed a one-hitter to lead the Exeter High School baseball team to a 2-0 triumph over Timberlane in Plaistow on Thursday.
Lendrum struck out 11 batters and allowed one walk. At the plate, Lendrum and Rob Wirtanen each had an RBI single for the Blue Hawks (2-0).
Steve Morris recorded the lone hit for Timberlane (1-1). Owls pitchers Shane Johnson and Colin Scully held Exeter to six hits.
Keene 16, Bedford 6: In Keene, Zach Mooers belted a three-run home run for the Blackbirds in the season opener for both teams. Keene hurler Taylor Letourneau pitched 3 2/3 innings of relief to earn the win. Trevor Anibal had a team-high three hits, including a two-run home run, and Michael Pratte tallied two hits for Bedford.
Portsmouth 10, Nashua North 9: In Portsmouth, Nashua North had a 7-1 lead after three innings before the Clippers (1-0) stormed back. Timm Kutzer logged two hits and four RBIs and Anthony Gagliano allowed two runs over four innings of relief to earn the win for Portsmouth. Trevor Kelly went 4-for-4 with five RBIs and a walk while James Bolton went 2-for-4 for the Titans (0-1).
Nashua South 13, Manchester Memorial 7: In Manchester, Roe Hendrick was among three Nashua South batters who tallied three hits. South improved to 1-1 while Memorial is 0-1.
Dover 16, Merrimack 9: In Dover, the Green Wave (1-0) scored the game’s first five runs and had a three-run seventh inning. Cole Keefe went 2-for-5 with two RBIs and a run scored while Ben Flanders had a hit, two walks and two runs scored for Merrimack (0-2).
John Stark 13, Milford 2: In Milford, Brett Patnode went 3-for-3 with four runs scored and two steals while Jake Cole and Aaron Robertson each had two hits for John Stark of Weare (1-0). Nathan Isabelle earned the win, allowing one earned run on five hits alongside five strikeouts over five innings. Milford is 1-1.
Exeter 5, Timberlane 4, 9 innings: In Exeter, Leah Burns led off the ninth with a double and scored on a Sydney Johnson single to win it for Exeter (2-0). Johnson had three RBIs. Sam Wiberg had three hits and scored twice, Sydney Warriner had two hits and two RBIs, and Sam Wiberg earned the win, striking out 14. Timberlane is 0-1.
Salem 7, Bishop Guertin 5: In Nashua, the Blue Devils pounced on five BG errors. Catherine Nale went the distance for the Cardinals Taylor Cushion went 3-for-4, and Petra Bajdek had two hits, including her first homer of the season. Elisabeth Ross also had two hits.
Bedford 9, Keene 1: In Bedford, Caroline O’Donnell went 3-for-3 with four RBIs and Erica Barley hit two home runs for the Bulldogs (1-0). Keene (0-2) had seven baserunners in the contest. Maddie Fraitzl earned the win, allowing one run on five hits on the mound, and went 3-for-4 at the plate.
Goffstown 10, Alvirne 7: In Goffstown, Shannon Gifford hit two home runs for the Grizzlies in their season-opening win. Alvirne of Hudson is 0-2.
Bishop Guertin 11, Chelmsford, Mass., 6: At Nashua, Rylee Bouvier led the 2-0 Cardinals with three goals. Amelia Piercy had two goals and an assist, and Claire Donovan and Emily Santom scored twice each. Maddie Keating and Kennedy Wright added single goals, and Natalie Coutu notched two assists. Makeena Reekie made five 5 saves.
Windham 13, Goffstown 8: In Windham, Ryane Farrell and Madi Connelly scored five for 1-0 Windham. Barbara Hume added two and Devon Hamilton one. Bella Connelly notched two assists and Olivia Manchester had one. Alex Perkins made three saves.
Coe-Brown 15, Spaulding 10: In Northwood, Morgan White logged five goals while Lauren Ouellet tallied two for Spaulding of Rochester (0-1). Coe-Brown is 1-0.
Laconia 17, Plymouth 12: In Laconia, Nina Morel recorded a team-high four goals while Dewey Stark and Holly Mason each logged two for Plymouth (0-2). Laconia is 1-0.
Derryfield 11, Pembroke 3: In Pembroke, Lucy Licata scored seven goals and Olivia Strong added threee goals and two assists for 1-0 Derryfield. Pembroke is 0-1.
