Courtney Shay played the role of hero for Londonderry, scoring with 12:17 remaining in the overtime period to propel the Lancers to a 3-2 win over Salem in Division I field hockey play Wednesday.

Londonderry (1-0) took an early lead on a Grace Chicko goal in the first half, but back-to-back goals from Salem’s Alison Beauch and Briana Boucher gave the Blue Devils a 2-1 advantage going into halftime. Chelsea Mullen scored the game-tying goal with 5:53 left in regulation. Salem is 0-1.

Derryfield 6, Kingswood 0: In Manchester, Lindsey Stagg led the way for the Cougars with four goals, scoring one in the first half and three in the second. Freshman Kira Geddes tacked on two of her own late in the first half to give a 3-0 advantage to Derryfield (1-0). Kingswood is 0-1.

Bishop Guertin 7, Manchester Memorial 2: In Manchester, Brooke Yabroudy scored twice and assisted on two in the Cardinals' season-opening win. Rylee Bouvier, Elise Harnish, Lindsay Hult, Sophia Alton and Britney Pearson added goals. Pearson, Sarah Coyle and Alayja Linton had assists. Monina Tosi made six saves for BG.

Boys’ soccer

Lebanon 2, Bow 1: In Lebanon, Logan Falzarano scored twice, including the winner with 35 seconds to play, to lift the Raiders to 2-0.

After Tyler St. Martin was tripped in the Bow penalty area, Logan Falzarano converted from the spot for a 1-0 Lebanon lead with 12:01 played in the second half.

Bow answered back at 15:45 when Connor Wachsmuth’s long throw ricocheted around the penalty area before finding the feet of Matt Selleck, who slotted home from 10 yards out.

Falzarano netted the game winner at 39:25, collecting a pass from St. Martin 25 yards from goal, beating one defender and skimming a shot off the left post and in.

Ryan Tanski had three saves in goal for Lebanon. Kyle Martin had five saves for Bow (1-1).
