Londonderry High is the state’s No. 1 team and Exeter High is No. 2.

Or should it be the other way around?

We’ll find out Sunday night at the University of New Hampshire’s Wildcat Stadium when the Lancers, the state’s top-ranked team since the season started, and Blue Hawks battle for Division I supremacy. Barring something unforeseen, voters in the Union Leader Power Poll will likely choose the Division I state champ as the statewide Power Poll champ as well.

For this week, though, the Lancers (11-0) remain a unanimous No. 1, especially after their 35-14 victory over Salem in a state semifinal. In the other Division I semifinal on Saturday afternoon, the Blue Hawks improved to 10-1 with a 34-13 thumping of Merrimack. That victory enabled Exeter to jump from No. 3 to No. 2 in this week’s poll.

Because they played in different “clusters” in Division I this season, Londonderry and Exeter have not met, which will add to the intrigue of Sunday’s final.

A pair of Division II clubs, state finalists Plymouth Regional and Hollis/Brookline, made jumps this week that were reflective of their semifinal victories. Plymouth, unranked a week ago, jumped to eighth after beating Alvirne, and Hollis/Brookline moved from ninth to seventh after taking down top seed Bow.
