For a second straight year, Concord High School's Forest MacKenzie was named as the Gatorade New Hampshire boys' cross-country runner of the year on Monday.

MacKenzie, a senior, is now a finalist for Gatorade's national award, the winner of which will be announced later this month.

MacKenzie became the first Concord harrier to earn both the NHIAA Division I and Meet of Champions individual titles this past fall. He won the Division I individual crown in 15 minutes, 52.2 seconds Oct. 27 at Derryfield Park in Manchester and won the Meet of Champions Nov. 3 at Mine Falls Park in Nashua with his time of 15:48.

MacKenzie placed seventh overall and was the top New Hampshire finisher in the New England Championships at Derryfield Park Nov. 10. He also placed 20th overall and was the state's top runner at the Nike Cross Nationals Northeast Regional.
