The Concord High School baseball team edged Manchester Central, 3-1, behind a complete-game effort from Ryan Merchant Thursday at Gill Stadium.

Merchant came out on the winning side of a pitchers’ duel with Central’s Albert Cuello Batista, allowing one earned run and striking out six. Merchant gave up six hits and a walk on 88 pitches.

Cuello Batista also went the distance, allowing two earned runs and striking out 10.

Zach Miles and Tyler Bruns both logged two hits for the Crimson Tide (4-0).

Central is 0-4.

Portsmouth 7, Alvirne 0: In Portsmouth, Ryan Minckler tossed a no-hitter for the Clippers (3-0), striking out 12 batters and walking two. He also logged two hits and an RBI at the plate. Alvirne of Hudson is 2-3.

Spaulding 9, Merrimack 3: Alex Caron, Ben Flanders and Bobby Bunis each logged two hits and an RBI for Merrimack.

Gilford 8, Fall Mountain 4: In Langdon, Cody Boucher, Adrian Siravo and Chandler Mead each had two hits for Gilford. Alex Muthersbaugh earned the win, allowing no earned runs and striking out 12 over six innings.

Boys’ lacrosse

Timberlane 11, Goffstown 8: In Goffstown, Matt Licata recorded five goals and two assists while Jack Gray had two goals and three assists for Timberlane of Plaistow (2-1). Nick Mason scored a team-high four goals for the Grizzlies. Goffstown goalie Grady Chretien and Timberlane netminder Ben Lamarre both made 11 saves.

Concord 13, Keene 2: In Keene, senior Brendan Pearl scored his 100th career goal for Concord, which improved to 2-1. Keene is 0-3.

Souhegan 13, Hanover 3: In Hanover, Curtis Redd tallied a game-high four goals while Will Boyle, Julian Whittier and Nicholas Jordan each scored twice for Souhegan of Amherst (3-1). Sabers goalie John Lohnes made 10 saves. Hanover is 0-2.

Hollis/Brookline 12, Coe-Brown 4: In Northwood, Jacob Radwan and Jack Cinquegrano both scored twice and Zach Sheehan made 17 saves for Coe-Brown (0-2).
