Avry Truex’s 16-save effort helped power the Derryfield of Manchester boys’ lacrosse team to a 6-5 victory at Westwood, Mass., High on Monday.

The Division II Cougars, now 3-0 on the season and winners of their last 56 games, led 4-3 at halftime and 6-3 entering the fourth quarter.

Westwood, the No. 16 team in the latest Boston Globe Top 20 rankings, had possession with 17 seconds remaining but could not pull even. Offensively, the Cougars received two goals and an assist from Jonny MacLean, two goals from Matt Weimer and a goal and an assist from Gunnar Senatore. John Anderson also scored for Derryfield.

Exeter 20, Nashua South 8: In Nashua, Wyatt Carr and Dayton Christenson each logged four goals and Aiden Drunsic had a hat trick for Exeter (2-1). Henry Vogt made six saves for the Blue Hawks. Joe Bodi recorded four goals while Dominic Pasquale and Ethan Johnson combined for eight saves for South (1-1).

Londonderry 9, Souhegan 8 (OT): In Amherst, Curtis Redd notched a team-high four goals, Nicholas Jordan had a hat trick and John Lohnes made 13 saves for the Sabers (1-1). Londonderry is 2-1.

Manchester Central 15, Pembroke 3: In Pembroke last Friday, Alex Hawkom, Alec Kacavas and Photi Voigas each had a hat trick for Manchester Central in the season-opener for both teams.

Girls’ lacrosse

Bedford 21, Manchester Central 6: In Manchester, Ryleigh Cavanaugh logged three goals, an assist and three draw controls and Katelyn Parker had two goals, an assist and two draw controls for Central (1-2). Bedford is 3-0.

Pinkerton 19, Londonderry 5: In Londonderry, Lauren Lisauskas tallied five goals and five assists, Lily Auger logged four goals and two assists and Madison Daziel had a hat trick for Pinkerton Academy of Derry (3-0). Londonderry (1-2) did not record a shot on goal in the second half.

Portsmouth 18, Windham 5: In Portsmouth, Anna Smith scored a game-high six goals while Sallie Squire, Katie Campel and Maddy Roelofs each had a hat trick for the Clippers (3-0). Devon Hamilton scored twice and Ryane Farrell logged two assists for Windham (1-1).

Derryfield 17, Plymouth 4: In Manchester, Olivia Strong recorded eight goals, three assists and 13 draw controls to lead Derryfield to the win in its season-opener. The Cougars also received four goals and two assists from Sydney Socha, three of each from Lucy Licata and seven saves from Shawna Lesmerises.

Trinity 12, Belmont 7: In Manchester, freshman Courtney Ingham scored five goals while Maeve Smith had a hat trick and six draw controls to lead Trinity (1-1) to its first ever varsity win. Nikki Calder also had a hat trick and Sarah Gagne and Mary Mulcahy each scooped up five ground balls for the Pioneers, who are in their second varsity campaign. Belmont is 0-1.

Boys’ volleyball

Bishop Guertin 3, Coe-Brown 0: In Northwood, Bishop Guertin of Nashua won, 25-15, 25-16, 25-22. Victor Martinez recorded nine digs, six aces and three kills, Chris Barillas logged 19 assists, seven digs, three aces and three kills and DJ Omogrosso had two aces and five blocks for the Cardinals (2-1).

Windham 3, Hollis/Brookline 0: In Hollis, the Jaguars (4-0) swept the Cavaliers in three games.

Sander Wimmer had six kills for Hollis/Brookline, Quentin Wimmer had three kills and Mitchell Coutu added two. Mike Moscatellis had 12 assists and Felix Yang had 6 digs for the Cavs.
