The Londonderry High School softball team “literally stole a run,” coach Wayne MacDougall said, and that run held up for the Lancers, who defeated Concord, 1-0, on the road Wednesday.

With Olivia Proulx, who singled, on third, Sam Minton, who was on first with a single, got caught in a rundown attempting to steal. That allowed Proulx to score.

The two hits were the only ones Londonderry (4-3) got off Concord pitcher Abby Rochette, who struck out 10. The Lancers’ Nina Perry scattered six hits and struck out one in her shutout performance.

The Crimson Tide are 5-2.

Pembroke 5, St. Thomas 4 (8 innings): In Pembroke, the Spartans (2-2) didn’t have a hit through six innings, but tied things up by scoring a run in the bottom of the seventh, then won the game when a single by freshman Whitney Moses scored Eileen Monteau in the eighth.

Pembroke scored four unearned runs against St. Thomas pitcher Jill Cortez, who struck out 12 in eight innings and also hit a solo home run. Chloe Carignan pitched all eight innings for the Spartans. She allowed five hits and struck out nine. Grace More logged two hits for the Saints (3-1).

Exeter 8, Alvirne 2: In Exeter, Sydney Warriner logged a team-high three hits, a run scored and an RBI, Sydney Johnson had two hits, two runs scored and an RBI and Emma Chisholm belted a two-run home run in the third inning for Exeter (5-1). Sam Wiberg allowed three hits and four walks and struck out 11 en route to the win. Alvirne of Hudson is 3-5.

Windham 2, Spaulding 0: In Windham, Abby Bedient tossed a four-hitter, striking out 10 batters to earn the win. The Jaguars (5-2) received an RBI double from Larissa Piessens in the first inning and a home run from Aislinn Milner in the fourth. Spaulding of Rochester (5-1) did not commit an error.

Keene 7, Goffstown 2: In Keene, the Blackbirds (2-6) broke a 1-1 tie with a four-run fourth inning. Keene’s Molly Harvey hit a three-run double and scored on a Brooke Oster single in the fourth frame. Goffstown is 2-2.

Winnacunnet 12, Bishop Guertin 2: In Hampton, Meghan Davey pitched a complete game and Ania Kwiecinski went 2-for-3 at the plate for Bishop Guertin of Nashua (0-5). Macie Harkovich allowed just one hit through four innings en route to the win for Winnacunnet (6-0).

Campbell 14, Conant 13: In Jaffrey, Abi Gray hit the game-winning double in the seventh. Maddie Davis struck out eight to earn the win and Campbell of Litchfield (5-0) registered 13 hits. Davis, Meghan Gibbons and Catherine Carignan each hit two doubles for the Cougars. Conant is 2-3.

Epping 14, Newmarket 0 (4 ½ inn.): In Epping, Belle Snyder tossed a one-hitter and struck out eight to earn the win. Laura Douguie and Abby Walsh both went 4-for-4 with a home run for Epping (4-0). Newmarket is 1-2.


Pinkerton 6, Manchester Memorial 5: In Derry, Frank Gulezian hit a walk-off single to earn Pinkerton (3-2) the win. Teammate Connor Jenkins went 2-for-4 with a three-run home run. Ryan Cardow, Jack Fitzgerald and Colin Brodeur each logged two hits for Memorial (4-3).

Merrimack 15, Trinity 2: In Manchester, Jack Goodwin allowed one earned run and struck out nine and went 3-for-5 with four RBIs at the plate for Merrimack (2-6). Teammate Cody Pfeifer went 4-for-5 with four runs scored, an RBI and a stolen base. Cam Tomko logged two hits and and RBI and Rob Launier had a triple and a run scored for Trinity (0-6).

Keene 13, Goffstown 0 (5 inn.): In Goffstown, Peter Haas tossed a three-hitter to lift Keene (6-2) to the win. Gabe Fletcher, Alex Charles and Tucker Brown each had multiple RBIs for the Blackbirds. Goffstown is 0-4.

Exeter 6, Alvirne 1: In Hudson, Brady Green and Harrison Lendrum each collected multiple hits for Exeter (6-1). Lendrum also earned the win on the mound, allowing one run on nine hits and striking out five. Alvirne (3-4) outhit Exeter, 9-6, but the Blue Hawks drew 11 walks.

Bishop Guertin 6, Winnacunnet 2: In Nashua, Sam Boudreau went 2-for-3 with a run and an RBI while Jake Mitchell went 2-for-3 with three RBIs for Bishop Guertin of Nashua (6-0). Winnacunnet of Hampton is 1-5.

John Stark 9, Plymouth 5: In Weare, John Stark (4-0) pulled ahead for good on Aaron Robertson’s three-run home run in the sixth inning. Brett Patnode allowed four hits and struck out 10 over four innings on the mound and went 1-for-1 with three walks and an RBI at the plate for the Generals. Plymouth is 2-2.

Souhegan 10, Kingswood 4: In Amherst, Jeff Kiesewetter went 4-for-4 with two RBIs and Jacob Grassett, Aidan Casey and Daniel Trzepacz each had two hits for the Sabers (3-3). Nick Wilson tossed a four-hitter over six innings for the win, allowing one run and striking out four. Kingswood of Wolfeboro is 0-5.

Kennett 13, Manchester West 2: In Manchester, relief pitcher Chase Spencer earned the win and Zach Smith went 4-for-5, including a double and a triple, and logged five RBIs and three runs scored for Kennett of Conway (3-1). West is 1-3.

Windham 8, Spaulding 5: In Rochester, Dylan Szostak went 3-for-4 with a home run and four RBIs for the Jaguars (2-4). Jojo Gallo added three hits for Windham. Spaulding (4-3) logged 12 hits.

Conant 9, Campbell 7: In Jaffrey, Campbell of Litchfield plated three runs in the seventh inning but fell short of the comeback. Jake Donovan led the Cougars (3-2) at the plate, going 4-for-4. Conant (3-2) stole seven bases.

Pittsfield 11, Sunapee 1 (6 inn.): In Pittsfield, Devin Bedell went 4-for-4 with two runs scored and allowed one run and four hits on the mound for the Panthers (4-0). Sunapee is 3-1.

Portsmouth Christian 13, Derryfield 3: In Manchester, Derryfield (0-3) committed eight errors and walked 11 batters. Kyle Goldberg and Janai Cruz each had two hits for the Cougars, who made five errors in PCA’s six-run fourth.

St. Thomas 7, Pembroke 1: At Pembroke, Cal Michael’s 2-for-3 performance was the highlight for the Spartans (1-3). Pembroke’s Ryan Ardine collected his first varsity hit in the loss.

Pinkerton 13, Portsmouth 7: In Portsmouth, Kiley Davis scored five goals, Lily Auger logged two goals and three assists and Lauren Lisauskas added a goal and two helpers for Division I Pinkerton Academy of Derry (5-1), which led 8-2 at halftime. Mia Smith scored both first-half goals for Division II Portsmouth (4-1).

Manchester Central 17, Merrimack 16: In Merrimack, Central led, 13-11, with 8:02 remaining and held off the Tomahawks’ comeback attempt. Meg Harris logged four goals for the Little Green (2-3). Senior Amanda Brewster notched three goals, including the 100th of her career, for Merrimack (2-3).
