Regular-season champ LeClerc State Farm Insurance cruised past fifth-place Atlas Precision Metal Fabricators 5-2 in a Manchester 40-plus men’s hockey league semifinal, advancing to the Amoskeag Cup championship against Luigi’s Pizza.
Luigi’s, the regular-season runner-up, beat third-place Phaneuf Funeral Homes 5-1. Roger Lajeunesse and Eric Grant each tallied twice for Luigi’s. Mark Crowley also scored. Lajeunesse and Scott Greenwood each had two assists. Dan Smith needed 16 saves to get the win; Phaneuf’s Scott Greer faced 40 shots.
In the LeClerc victory, Artie Soucey paced the winners, recording two goals and an assist. Also scoring for LeClerc were team captain Marc Morin, Dave Beliveau and Tony Hallee, whose empty net goal sealed the win. Dan Charest chipped in with a pair of assists.
Dan LaBerge and Bob Petrin scored for Atlas. Mark Sloan had 20 saves for LeClerc; Dave Anstey made 27 for Atlas.
The championship is set for Friday at 6:40 p.m. at JFK Coliseum.
