The Newfoundland Growlers scored in every period and downed the Manchester Monarchs 4-2 on Tuesday in Game 3 of the ECHL North Division finals at SNHU Arena.

The Growlers ledd the best-of-seven series 2-1 heading into Wednesday’s Game 4 at SNHU Arena. See UnionLeader.com for a game story. Game 5 will be Friday at The Rinks at Exeter. Opening faceoff for both games is 7 p.m.

Giorgio Estephan, Scott Pooley and Matt Bradley scored even-strength goals as the visitors built a 3-0 lead in the third period.

Manchester’s Kevin Dufour scored with 3:20 to play, but former Dartmouth College star Zach O’Brien scored an empty-net goal with 2:24 left to seal it. The Monarchs’ Michael Doherty added a goal with six seconds left for the final margin.

Monarchs goalie Charles Williams made 20 saves, to 39 for Newfoundland’s Michael Garteig, a former Quinnipiac star.
