Bokondji Imama scored twice, including the game winner, in the Manchester Monarchs' 3-2 win over the Newfoundland Growlers in Game 1 of their North Division Final series of the ECHL's Kelly Cup Playoffs on Friday night in Saint John's, Newfoundland.

Game 2 is tonight in Saint John's.

Manchester trailed 2-1 midway through the third period when Kevin Dufour scored on a breakaway at 8:58 to tie the game.

Imama got the winner, his second of the night and third of the playoffs, at 11:50. He fired a shot towards a crowd in front of the net and the puck bounced past Growlers goalie Michael Garteig.

Imama put Manchester up 1-0 with his goal at 12:47 of the first period. Imama pounced on a turnover behind the Newfoundland net and lifted one past Garteig.

The Growlers got even at 16:17 of the first period as Zach O’Brien tipped a Brady Ferguson shot past Monarchs goaltender Charles Williams.

Newfoundland took the lead at 10:27 of the second period Marcus Power's rebound goal. After shots by Ferguson and O’Brien, Power found the rebound and lifted the puck over the dive of Williams.
