On the day it was announced the Manchester Monarchs were for sale, the team was shut out by the Maine Mariners, 1-0, on Friday night in Portland, Maine.

The Monarchs outshot the Mariners 43-29, but could not solve goalie Brandon Halverson.

Ryan Ferrill scored the only goal of the game, his fifth of the season, on the power play at 9:19 of the third period. UNH product Jason Salvaggio took a shot from the right point that was deflected in front by Ferrill and past the glove of Monarchs goaltender Charles Williams.

The Monarchs, now 19-18-1-1, have some time off before returning to action next Friday at Maine.

The ECHL All-Star Game is Monday night in Toledo. David Kolomatis is Manchester's representative.
