The Manchester Monarchs dropped their third straight game Saturday night, a 5-2 decision to the Maine Mariners in ECHL play at SNHU Arena.
Morgan Adams-Moisan scored twice to help stake Maine to a 4-0 lead in the second period. The Mariners started with a goal by Michael McNicholas, his fourth, at 2:28 of the first. Then it was Alex Kile with his ninth, at 18:16 of the first. Adams-Moisan scored the first of his two, his third of the season, just 34 seconds later at 18:50. Adams-Moisan scored his fourth of the season and second of the night at 10:14 of the third.
The Monarchs (10-7-1-1) got on the board at 11:37 of the third period when Cory Ward scored his third goal of the season, receiving a pass from David Kolomatis in the slot and beating Mariners goaltender Connor LaCouvee.
The Monarchs scored again at 15:31 of the third period when Kolomatis scored a shorthanded goal, his second of the year, sneaking the puck past LaCouvee after a deke and drop pass by Matt Marcinew.
Kile scored his second of the night, at empty-netter, at 16:53 to seal it for the Mariners (8-9-1-1). Kile added two assists to his night’s work.
LaCouvee stopped 37 shots to earn the win. Monarchs goalie Cole Kehler stopped 33 shots in defeat.
The Monarchs return to action Wednesday at Norfolk.
