The Manchester Monarchs will play the Adirondack Thunder in the first round of the upcoming ECHL playoffs.

The Monarchs clinched a playoff spot with a shootout win over Newfoundland on Friday, then won their regular-season finale on Saturday, 5-2, over Maine. Five players scored and goalie Charles Williams made 43 saves. Maine goalie Francois Brassard stopped 31 shots.

Games 1 and 2 of the Monarchs-Thunder series will be played Friday and Saturday nights in Glens Falls, N.Y. Games 3, 4 and 5 (if necessary) are set for Wednesday, April 17 (7 p.m.), Friday, April 19 (7 p.m.) and Saturday, April 20 (6 p.m.) at SNHU Arena in Manchester.

Games 6 and 7, if necessary, are back at Adirondack on Tuesday, April 23 and Wednesday, April 24.
