The Manchester Monarchs scored three second-period goals en route to a 5-2 win over the Maine Mariners in ECHL play on Saturday night at SNHU Arena in Manchester.
Nic Pierog and Nate Moutrey each scored twice for Manchester.
Pierog's second goal of the season, at 8:57 of the first period, put the Monarchs in front but Maine's Zach Tolkinen responded at 13:46 to send the teams into intermission tied at 1-1.
Moutrey scored his second of the year at 1:53 to put the Monarchs in front. Pierog's second of the game, at 6:42, made it 3-1 and Spencer Watson connected on his third of the season at 18:20 to make it 4-1 Monarchs after two.
Maine's Alex Kile got one back, at 12:09 of the third period, but Moutrey scored into an empty net, his third of the year, with 1:55 to go.
The Monarchs are home for three games this week: against Brampton on Wednesday at 7 p.m., Newfoundland on Friday at 7 p.m. and Reading on Saturday at 6 p.m.
