Spencer Watson had a hat trick and Sam Kurker scored twice and added an assist in the Manchester Monarchs’ 6-3 win over the Maine Mariners on Saturday night in ECHL play at SNHU Arena.
It was Manchester’s second straight win over Maine after a 2-1 win Friday. The Monarchs host Worcester today at 3 p.m. at SNHU Arena.
The Monarchs (21-18-1-1) scored four goals in the third period.
Kurker scored his fourth of the season at 19:18 of the first. The Mariners answered at 9:38 of the second when UNH product Jason Salvaggio scored his eighth of the season.
The Monarchs regained their lead at 13:09 of the second period when Kurker scored a power-play goal, his ninth of the season and second of the night. The Mariners knotted it up at 14:22 of the second period, when Morgan Adams-Moisan scored his 14th goal of the season.
The Monarchs took the lead for good 35 seconds of the third period when Watson scored his 13th of the season. The Monarchs doubled their lead at 1:48 of the third period when Jack Nevins scored his fifth of the season.
The Monarchs increased their lead at 12:42 of the third period when Watson scored his 14th of the year. Watson completed his hat trick with a goal at 14:05.
The Mariners closed the scoring 18:02 of the third when Greg Chase scored a power-play goal, his eighth of the season.
