The Adirondack Thunder scored three unanswered goals in the third period and beat the Manchester Monarchs 4-3 on Friday night at SNHU Arena, extending the ECHL first-round playoff series at least another night.

The Monarchs had a chance to sweep the best-of-seven series and held a 3-1 leading heading into the third period.

But Adirondack's Matt Salhany scored at 3:53, and James Henry followed with a power-play goal less than two minutes later, tying the game at 3-3.

And at 10:53, Salhany scored again, on the power play, to give the visitors a lead they would not relinquish.

The clubs play Game 5 of the series tonight (6 p.m.) at SNHU Arena

Adirondack goalie Alex Sakellaropoulos made 21 saves for the victory. Charles Williams was busier in the Manchester net, making 33 stops.

Chris Carlisle and Kevin Dufour (power play) scored for the Monarchs in the first period. The Thunder's Brian Ward narrowed the gap with a goal at 8:31 of the third period, but Manchester's Nic Pierog restored the two-goal lead at 13:00, while his team was shorthanded.
