Some Red Sox and Yankees greats from yesteryear will headline the celebrity guest list for the Granite State Baseball Dinner on Saturday.
Hall of Famers Rich “Goose” Gossage and Wade Boggs will attend, as will Red Sox legends Bill Lee, Luis Tiant, Rico Petrocelli and Bob Stanley. The baseball dinner appearance will be the first for Gossage, third for Boggs.
Also slated to attend is Bucky Dent, best known for his three-run homer in the 1978 American League special playoff game that helped the Yankees past the Red Sox 5-4.
New Hampshire’s Chris Carpenter, the 2005 National League Cy Young Award winner and a two-time World Series champ with the St. Louis Cardinals, will also join the festivities.
The World Series trophy will also be in attendance.
The New Hampshire Fisher Cats and the Ted Williams Foundation are the organizers of the event, which is set for 5 p.m. at the DoubleTree by Hilton Manchester Downtown Hotel Expo Center. Since 2007, the event has hosted thousands of guests and donated more than $11.75 million to the Children’s Hospital at Dartmouth-Hitchcock (CHaD) and the Fisher Cats Foundation.
