Top-ranked Massachusetts ended the University of New Hampshire’s hockey season last night with a 6-0 drubbing at the Mullins Center in Amherst, Mass., to complete a two-game sweep of the Wildcats in the Hockey East quarterfinals.

Cole Makar and Brett Boeing each struck twice for the Minutemen, who also got goals from Jacob Pritchard and Colin Felix.

UNH goalie Mike Robinson struggled, allowing four goals on nine shots before giving way to Ty Taylor, who stopped 14 of 16 shots. Filip Lindberg stopped 18 shots for the shutout for UMass.

The Minutemen (28-8-0) move on to Friday’s conference semifinals at TD Garden in Boston.

The Wildcats finish Mike Souza’s first season as head coach 12-15-9.
